ABOUT ME

My name is Celina Brijmohan and I am a senior at Sports and Medical Sciences Academy, I have been a student here since the sixth grade. Growing up my parents have taught my brothers and I many things, but there was one that stuck  with me. They said that we should always be grateful for those who have helped us throughout life. On New Years of 2005 our house was destroyed due to a fire and my parents were left to rebuild everything from the bottom. When they emigrated from Guyana in the early 90s they had very little, so to loose all they had worked for was not easy. This event is not something my parents talk about often, but when they do, they always talk about the kind individuals who helped them in that time of need. From the ones who donated clothes and food or furniture and money, everyone had an impact that they will never forget. Listening to them,  I realize what a huge impact helping others has. That’s why for my capstone I wanted to give back in some way and hopefully be able to help others. Whatever kindness you do for others has an impact, no matter how small or big it may be.
